Description

Your dog's liver has a lot to cope with. It has to cleanse toxins from a chemical, mineral or ingestible source. Briefly explained these toxins come from household cleaning products, pesticides, chemical flea treatments, medication, anaesthetic, commercial pet food additives, poor quality water or harmful foods that our babies get their paws on such as chocolate!

The liver is susceptible to damage because of its central role in detoxification of the body. Over time an excess of toxins can build up and cause problems and some breeds may simply be more predisposed to liver related issues.

To avoid problems, it is advisable to give your dogs liver a thorough cleanse every 6-12 months, or as necessary, which can be after anaesthetic, ongoing medication or if your dog is elderly.

Proflax Liver Love formula is 100% natural. It contains concentrated active herbs Dandelion, Milk Thistle, Yarrow, Artichoke, Schizandra, Yellow Dock and Liquorice. These herbs have been formulated to offer powerful detoxification of the liver and assist with optimal liver function. The inclusion of flaxseed oil additionally helps to maintain overall good health of the heart, digestive & reproductive system, supports mobility & circulation, aids metabolism and gives a shiny coat. The active ingredients provide nutritional support.

Liver Love contains 3 adaptogens which are a unique class of healing herbs that help to balance, restore and protect the body both physically and emotionally. The herbs in this formula have been selected by a holistic vet for maximum efficacy. Visible relief and health benefits can be seen in as little as 7 days in some dogs.

Feed once daily or every other day depending on the level of support required. Shake well before every use and store in the fridge to maintain freshness.

Available in 250ml, 500ml and 1 litre.

Ideal for dogs who need a thorough cleanse of their liver after anaesthetic, medication, exposure to chemicals or other toxins. Aids function of the liver in elderly dogs and breeds predisposed to liver problems. Can be used every 12-18 months for a thorough liver cleanse. Suitable for all breeds.

Not recommended for pregnant/nursing dogs and puppies under the age of 8 weeks old. Not to be used if your dog is known to be allergic/reactive to any of the ingredients listed or if your dog is taking blood thinning medication (anticoagulants)/blood modulators or has gallstones. Pre and post operation guidelines - stop feeding one week prior to and after anaesthetic. Proflax Liver Love can be taken as an integrative approach alongside most medication, however, we suggest that you check with your own vet first as herbs can sometimes affect the absorption of certain medication.

Has neuroprotective properties so supports a healthy nervous system and brain. Provides calcium, magnesium, potassium, folate and vitamin A.

Dandelion: A natural diuretic; cleanser and detoxifier for the liver and kidneys. A powerhouse herb with the richest source of β-carotene, from which vitamin A is created. It is especially rich in fibre, potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, B & C vitamins (especially thiamine and riboflavin).

Schizandra: An adaptogenic herb that helps increase resistance to environmental and emotional stress. Supports the adrenals. Packed with antioxidants and a powerful anti-inflammatory. Because liver health is tied to stronger immunity, schizandra has been found to be protective against infections, indigestion and various gastrointestinal disorders.

Liquorice: An adaptogenic herb that supports the immune system, helps reduce stress, combats bacteria and viruses, aids respiration and maintains good digestion. Makes the whole formula taste great!

Feeding guide

Use our food calculator for a guide on how much to feed your dog.

Feed as part of a balanced diet. Adult dogs should consume 2-3% of their ideal body weight per day and Just Tripe can form a portion of this. Every working dog is different. Adjust portions accordingly. Wash your hands, utensils and surfaces after handling any raw meat.

To give you an idea of portion size, Dexter is an adult male Boxer, weighing 26kgs. We feed him 500gr per day which is a tiny bit under 2% but it works for him as he does have some treats during the day as well. On the other hand, Maisie is a 2 year old female Boxer, weighing 22 kgs and we feed her the same as Dexter. This is because she is a high energy girl who never walks if she can run, so she needs a bit more food every day. So, use the above percentages as a guide and adjust for your dog, afterall, no-one knows them like you do.

Will my order arrive in one go?

Dogs About Town seeks out smaller, niche suppliers to bring you a collection of doggy goodies that's a little bit different from the norm. Because of this, when you order, you might choose goods from several different suppliers and that will mean that your order won't arrive in one package. For example, if you buy a lounge bed, nose-it toy and a chill pad, you'll be supporting 3 different small manufacturers and you'll receive 3 packages. Now, we know, this might seem a bit odd at first, but we hope you'll agree that it's worth it to find something just that little bit different and be able to support some of the smaller but beautifully formed suppliers and manufacturers.

A Quick Word About Packaging:

The world's resources are precious, so whenever we can, we like to reuse packaging that we get sent. Things like those polystyrene chips, shredded paper or bubble wrap. We also try to choose the most environmentally cardboard boxes we can and this means that sometimes, you'll get a box that looks too big for it's contents. But rest assured, we've done our homework and picked the best option we can, plus any packing that we use to fill the box is likely to be on its second use. Phew.

Your dog’s yummy raw food will arrive frozen and will be sent straight to your door by courier – no more lugging heavy sacks or tins back from the shops, yey!

Between Monday – Thursday, if you order before 1pm, your food will arrive the next day. Orders placed after 1pm on Thursday and before 1pm on Monday will arrive on the Tuesday.

If you are not going to be in when your order arrives, please let us know where we can leave it. It is packed so that it will stay frozen for some time after delivery so just make sure you pop it straight in the freezer when you get home.

The minimum order is 6kgs which is about 1 freezer basket full in an average freezer and approximately 2 weeks worth of food for a 20kgs dog. If you’re not sure how much to order, call us free on 0800 644 4662, or use our Portions Calculator.
